

BIOGRAPHY
Anastasia Rachmanidou was born in
Thessaloniki Greece, where she studied
Medicine. Following general surgical training she
further specialised in Otorhinolaryngology
(European Training Scheme).
She then moved to Edinburgh, Scotland where
she completed higher surgical training in
Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck
Surgery.
In 1999, she completed her studies for the
Diploma in Forensic Medicine from the
University of Edinburgh. She was a Research
Registrar in Rhinology with the Academic
Department of Respiratory Medicine, St
Bartholomew's Hospital, London.
Anastasia Rachmanidou became a Consultant
ENT Surgeon at University Hospital Lewisham,
London in 2000.
She specialises in Rhinology (endoscopic
surgery of the nose and para-nasal sinuses
[FESS]), septoplasty, functional and cosmetic
septorhinoplasty, allergic rhinitis), Paediatric
Otolaryngology (tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy,
OSA, glue ear & grommets, allergy), snoring
and anti-snoring procedures (palatoplasty) and
voice disorders.
Anastasia Rachmanidou is a lead mentor for
Co-blation (radio-frequency) dissection in the
UK. Her audit and research projects focus on
the use of Co-blation for adeno-tonsillectomy
and nasal turbinate reduction as well as palatal
surgery. She has completed studies on the
diagnosis of obstruction level for simple snoring
and / or OSA .
She has acquired qualifications in Management
and Teaching and has a great interest in
Medical Education.
Anastasia Rachmanidou has recently been
awarded ad eundem fellowship from the Royal
College of Surgeons of England.
